Bell Underest is an independent reference to eighteen hotels, grouped as ice, casino, art and capsule houses. Every entry follows the same short plan: what the house is, how the building works, and what to ask about before going. Nothing here is ranked, scored or sold.
The material comes from the properties' own published pages, from maps and from published reporting. Where a point could not be confirmed, it was left out. There are no prices, no star grades, no room counts, no reviews and no booking links anywhere on the site.
Ice Hotels
Four winter and cold-country houses in Iceland, from a farm turned lodge to a set of transparent domes in a wood. What stands open on these sites changes with the season, and the entries say so.
Casino Hotels
Four Canadian complexes described strictly as hotels and resorts: rooms, restaurants, theatres and spas. The gaming floor is outside the scope of this guide and is not described anywhere on the site.
Art Hotels
Six houses in France, Germany and Italy where the interior, a collection or a working residency is the reason the building is put in this group. Older houses, converted rather than newly built.
Capsule Hotels
Four houses built on a repeating cabin plan, in Scotland, Switzerland, Denmark and Japan. Each is one address of a wider group, and every entry says so in its opening paragraph.
What an entry contains
An opening paragraph that says what the house is and which group or site it belongs to.
One photograph of the house.
Three headings in the same order every time: in brief, the building, things to note.
What we leave out: prices, stars, ratings, room counts, booking links and promises.
Keeping entries current
Each entry carries the month it was last checked against the property's published material. Buildings are refitted, seasonal sites open and close, and groups rename their houses, so a line that was right in one season can be wrong in the next.
